To Our Dedicated Staff & Valued Customers,
At McKenzie Valve, we believe in transparency and accountability, which is why we want to address past issues with our USR (UNNR) valves and highlight the positive changes we've made.
In the past, our USR valves faced warranty issues stemming from a Rail Worthiness Directive recall. The valves were not properly approved, leading to paperwork discrepancies. Specifically, the 3” valve posed a potential risk under certain conditions.
To rectify these issues, we took proactive steps. We applied for reapproval of the 1” and 2” valve versions based on their service history, successfully obtaining AAR approval. Additionally, we redesigned the 3” valve, increasing thread length to prevent contact between the plug and ball. After rigorous testing and submission to the AAR, we obtained approval for the redesigned valve.
Our commitment to meeting AAR approval standards remains unwavering, ensuring the highest quality and safety for our customers.
Our USR valves now boast several key selling points: short lead times, availability of ASTM A262 Corrosion Tests, and competitive pricing. The market demand for USR valves remains robust, particularly for replacements in existing equipment amidst a significant tank car qualification boom.
We understand that customer perception is crucial. We're proud to share that engineers from UTLX and Procor have endorsed the installation of our valves. Moreover, since relaunching the product line, we've received positive feedback from customers, with no reported issues.
At McKenzie Valve, your satisfaction and safety are our top priorities. We're committed to delivering reliable, high-quality products and thank you for your continued trust and support.
Best Regards,
McKenzie Valve
